Phillips & Hustle Win Eddies

Eddie AwardsNautical drama Captain Phillips and crime movie American Hustle are awarded the top prizes at the American Cinema Editors’ annual awards. Eddies are given to films with outstanding achievements in editing across film and television.

Behind the Candelabra picked up the award for television movie, for which reason it is ineligible for Academy Awards. Meanwhile Frozen won the animated category and 12 Feet From Stardom picked up Documentary Editing.

These do suggest which way voters are leaning on their Oscar ballots, and as we edge closer to the awards, the momentum seems to be burning out for 12 Years a Slave as it features less and less in the winners lists. What do you think? Does this affect your Oscar predictions?

Best Edited Feature Film (Musical or Comedy) – American Hustle
